Q: Where do I get a contract?

A: You can get a copy of the union contract at the NAF Personnel Office, by asking your supervisor, or the link on our website

Q: Can I get in trouble for calling the union?

A: No. There are laws and a contract to protect you from reprisal. Federal Statue. Section 7116 (a) (4)

Q: Are flexible employees eligible to join the union?

A: Yes. All NAF employees are eligible and are covered under the contract.

Q: How long do I have to file a grievance?

A: 21 days from the incident. Once filed HR has 21 days to respond. Article 28 section 1 of union contract

Q: When should I ask for a Union Representation?

A: You should ask for a Union Rep whenever you are questioned by management, and you believe that the discussion can lead to Discipline. This is called “Weingarten Rights”. Article 3 section 3 of union contract

Q: What if management asks for a written statement?

A: According to the contract you have a right to have a Union Rep assist you with your statement. Article 5 section 5 of union contract

Q: Can you get raises?

A: Yes. Employees under the pay band system will receive consideration for pay increases at least annually. Article 22 section 5 (a)

Q: Who is eligible for end of the year performance award?

A: Please see Article 21 section 7 (a) & (b) in union contract
